Without a monobrow or animal ear in sight it appears as though Topshop Unique have decided to take on a more refined, even serious attitude for Autumn/Winter 2012-13, which has resulted in one of their most wearable and covetable collections to date.
Overflowing with hefty oversized outerwear and plasticized details, models stomped down the runway in edgy leather boots and autumnal hues that screamed utilitariun masculinity. However elegance and charm were all but not lost as a more sophisticated take on the dungaree also made an appearance, utterly reincarnated in black velvet and paired with a crisp white shirt that brought wearability to the design.
A nod to the 60s and this season’s dropped waist were present too, with heavy pleats and provocative splits featuring on some of the most covetable midi skirts we’ve seen to date.
If you ask me, I’d take that over face paint and animal ears any day.
